Who We Are
Dawn Barrs, President — Dawn has been writing about technology and how it affects our business (and personal) lives since 1984. In 1996, she founded The Camber Group to more completely provide a breadth of writing skills to her technology-based clients, which has included IBM, Oracle, Andrews Consulting Group, ADP, Gartner Group, FleetCor, and others. Dawn is a systems engineer by training:
- Featured writer in Oracle Magazine and Oracle DBA Magazine
- 300+ case studies for IBM, Oracle and others
- 400+ online training courses for IBM
- 250+ white papers for IBM, Gartner Group, ADP, Andrews Consulting Group and others
- Publishing and advertising successes appearing in Ad Age, NY Times, WS Journal, Atlanta Journal/Constitution, Birmingham News
- Founded and published two regional computer monthly newspapers
Pamela Bartz, Writer — In the past year alone, Pam has written 25 "happy customer" stories, 40 in-depth case studies and several whitepapers. Previous experience includes: project and team management responsibilities in the cellular industry; marketing and advertising responsibilities in the PC retail industry; and technology writing and teaching positions with NYNEX Business Centers. Pam has worked with Dawn on many technical marketing and writing projects since 1987. (MBA, Georgia State Univ.; and BS, Mktg, Univ. of W. Florida)
Richard Doughty, Voice Talent — Richard provides script editing and audio narration. (Additional talent is available, male and female, as needs and volumes might require.) Richard previously worked for IBM for more than 10 years in marketing and marketing communications, later becoming a consultant in that field, with clients such as Lucent, Proctor & Gamble, Coca-Cola and IBM. His assignments have included IT research, telemarketing, technical writing, media relations and releases, copy editing, video production, and CNN network anchoring in San Francisco. Richard also ran his own multimedia firm in San Francisco with clients that included many Fortune 500 companies (MS and BS in Journalism/Communications and Sociology, Univ. of Oregon; EE from Grantham School of Engineering (Seattle)).
Chaz Cone, audio production — Chaz provides the recording, editing and other audio production requirements that are related to providingexcellent audio recordings for The Camber Group's clients.
Bernadette Bergeson, Project Manager — Bernadette does a lot of the mid-technical-level work related to various projects, including: intensive Iproofing, Web site discovery, questionnaire building and validation, and more. She is well-versed in InDesign, DreamWeaver, PageMaker, FrameMaker, CorelDraw, and other graphical and publishing software, having worked extensively with various multimedia and desktop projects for 20 years.
Graphical and Web skills — Our graphical team provides a broad array of graphical, Web and pre-publishing services. They are currently working on Internet-based education courses and Web design, but in the past have provided other layout and design services. Our graphics team has been doing work for IBM through various agencies for many years and has a full complement of IBM-preferred typestyles, IBM-established logo placement requirements, etc.
